Helping Make-A-Wish® Nebraska Grant Wishes

New York, NY… October 26, 2013 – Nonprofit organizations should never have to decrease their services due to the economy. That is why Watertree Health, a leading provider of FREE prescription discount cards, is partnering with Make-A-Wish® chapters nationwide to set up a program that will provide ongoing financial support for the important work they do for children with life-threatening medical conditions.

The program is simple.  From October 26, 2013 to October 25, 2014, Watertree Health will donate $.50 to Make-A-Wish Nebraska for every script discounted using the special program cards.  Individuals should ask their pharmacy if they are taking part in this fundraising effort to benefit Make-A-Wish Nebraska.

Individuals can also go to WatertreeHealthCard.com/WishNE to download a pre-activated card.  The card provides significant discounts on both brand name and generic prescriptions and is accepted at Walmart, Walgreens, Target, CVS plus many additional national, regional and independent pharmacies.

Matt Herfield, founder & CEO of Watertree Health, recognizes the importance of Make-A-Wish Nebraska. “We are very pleased to be working with this organization because their work is so vital in helping children cope and get healthier.  We understand that it’s not just medicine that gets them stronger—it’s a positive outlook that gives them the courage to get better.”

Herfield’s comments are supported by a 2011 Wish Impact Study, commissioned by Make-A-Wish to interview past wish participants, wish kids, their families and medical professionals.  It proved that “a wish come true empowers children,” giving them the mental resilience to fight harder against their health challenges.

Make-A-Wish Nebraska sees the impact of a wish daily with its local wish kids.  One example is 13-year-old Justice who has endured over 40 surgeries since she was born.  She wanted to travel to somewhere peaceful and beautiful so she could forget about her illness.  Justice knew Hawaii was the place where she could just be a a kid.  Watertree Health wants to make sure wishes like these continue to come true for children all across the country.

In September Watertree Health joined with Make-A-Wish® Central & Northern Florida.  This month the company is building onto that partnership with Make-A-Wish® Nebraska, a chapter founded in 1983 with three offices located in Omaha, Kearney and Lincoln to service the entire state.  It grants more than 110 wishes each year to children with serious or life-threatening conditions, enriching the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
