Helping Make-A-Wish® Arizona Grant Wishes
New York, NY… October 26, 2013 – Nonprofit organizations should never have to decrease their services due to the economy. That is why Watertree Health, a leading provider of FREE prescription discount cards, is partnering with Make-A-Wish® chapters nationwide to set up a program that will provide ongoing financial support for the important work they do for children with life-threatening medical conditions.
The program is simple. From October 26, 2013 to October 25, 2014, Watertree Health will donate $.50 to Make-A-Wish Arizona for every script discounted using the special program cards. Individuals should ask their pharmacy if they are taking part in this fundraising effort to benefit Make-A-Wish Arizona.
Individuals can also go to WatertreeHealthCard.com/WishAZ to download a pre-activated card. The card provides significant discounts on both brand name and generic prescriptions and is accepted at Fry’s, Walgreens, Walmart, Target, CVS, plus many additional national, regional and independent pharmacies.
Matt Herfield, founder & CEO of Watertree Health, recognizes the importance of Make-A-Wish Arizona. “We are very pleased to be working with this organization because their work is so vital in helping children cope and get healthier. We understand that it’s not just medicine that gets them stronger—it’s a positive outlook that gives them the courage to get better.”
Herfield’s comments are supported by a 2011 Wish Impact Study, commissioned by Make-A-Wish to interview past wish participants, wish kids, their families and medical professionals. It proved that “a wish come true empowers children,” giving them the mental resilience to fight harder against their health challenges.
Make-A-Wish Arizona sees the impact of a wish daily with its local wish kids. One example is Kaila, a 12-year-old girl with a life-threatening seizure disorder. She spends a lot of time in her room and wanted a room makeover perfectly suited to her personal and medical needs. Through Make-A-Wish Arizona she got the room of her dreams. Watertree Health wants to make sure wishes like Kaila’s continue to come true for children all across the country.
In September Watertree Health joined with Make-A-Wish® Central & Northern Florida. This month the company is building onto that partnership with Make-A-Wish® Arizona, the founding chapter of the now international wish granting organization. The Arizona chapter has granted more than 4,500 wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions, enriching the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Started in 1980 with one Arizona boy’s wish to be a police officer, our chapter evolved into a dedicated community of volunteers, donors and Arizona families who have worked together to grant more than 4,500 wishes. Make-A-Wish Arizona continues to be a trailblazing chapter, granting 317 wishes in fiscal year 2013, a record in Arizona.
